I created Midnight Cathedral as a way to combine everything I have loved for most of my life, music, storytelling, live performance, fantasy, horror, and the convention community itself.

 

My wife Inez and I have spent years attending conventions across the Southeast, participating in cosplay, meeting fans and creators, and fully immersing ourselves in convention culture. Inez has competed in multiple costume and beauty competitions while I proudly supported her from the sidelines, experiences that helped shape the overall spirit and vision behind Midnight Cathedral.

 

Long before Midnight Cathedral, I performed with a previous convention-based band beginning around 2011, playing local convention events and working alongside vendors and entertainment groups at shows including Dragon Con. Music has always been a major part of my life, with drums serving as my primary instrument and musical foundation.

 

The idea for Midnight Cathedral truly began when my brother and I decided we wanted to finally perform together, something we had never done before. As I continued writing my gothic fantasy series, Banners of the Crimson Fist, the vision slowly expanded into something far larger than originally planned. What started as music evolved into a theatrical experience blending heavy metal, fantasy, horror, storytelling, and live audience interaction.

 

Midnight Cathedral is much more than a traditional band. It is a creative world built by a group of people who share a passion for music, performance, immersive storytelling, and the convention scene itself. Bringing all of those passions together into one experience simply felt natural.

 

For me, conventions are not only about performing, but also about connecting with fans, supporting artists and vendors, exploring the convention experience alongside the audience, and sometimes even getting a few autographs from favorite celebrities along the way.

 

After more than three years of planning, writing, recording, world-building, and preparation, Midnight Cathedral is now preparing for its first live convention appearances beginning in 2027. Music is currently available on Spotify and other streaming platforms, while merchandise, media content, online stores, and future convention appearances continue to expand as the project moves forward.
