BOOK MIDNIGHT CATHEDRAL

A gothic metal theatrical concert from Atlanta. Live music, storytelling, characters, and cinematic spectacle ...
a complete world assembled on stage.

This is not a concert on a bare stage. It is an immersive theatrical production — original metal, a custom ruined-cathedral stage set, costumed characters, and narration woven between the songs. A complete world, assembled in front of the audience, and scaled to fit your stage and your slot.

THE SHOW

A concert is only the beginning. Midnight Cathedral is a complete experience, not merely a collection of songs.

The performance unfolds against a ruined gothic cathedral — weathered stone towers, broken parapets, a towering central arch, crimson banners, fog, and dramatic light. The songs provide the heartbeat. The characters give the stories a face. Between the songs, narration and atmospheric interludes carry the audience through a connected story of heroes, villains, and immortals, and the choices that define them. The music is original: gothic and orchestral metal, heavy in places, haunting in others, built for melody and cinematic weight.

Flow, pacing, atmosphere, and silence are all part of the design. Stage presence is collective — attention moves with the story rather than fixing on one performer. Some moments are powerful, some mysterious, some dark. But everything is connected.

It plays as the centerpiece of a themed event, a featured concert in a performing-arts theater, or a headline set on a convention main stage. When the performance ends, the audience should feel they've experienced something, not simply attended something. For an hour, they step inside the world of Midnight Cathedral — and every performance is another chapter in the story.

WHO ITS FOR

Distinctive live entertainment for programmers of dark, gothic, horror, fantasy, sci-fi, and pop-culture events. Midnight Cathedral is built to scale across a wide range of stages:

  • Pop-culture, fantasy, horror, sci-fi, and gaming conventions — a main-stage performance or featured programming block for fandom audiences, with fan engagement (photos, signings) available.

  • Performing-arts theaters — a full theatrical concert, staged and lit for a seated house.

  • Festivals and themed events — a high-impact featured or headline set, tuned to your run-of-show.

  • Halloween, seasonal, and theme-park attractions — atmospheric, costumed, theatrical entertainment that matches the season.

  • Special and private events — a self-contained production for programmers looking for something they haven't seen before.

Whatever the slot, the world stays intact. A full 60-minute production, a tight festival set, or a focused convention showcase — same atmosphere, same production values, sized to fit.

THE STAGE PRODUCTION

The stage set — a modular ruined-cathedral facade — was designed from the ground up to travel and to fit real venue stages. It anchors the performance and gives presenters a striking, camera-ready centerpiece.

Stage design concept renderings. The physical set is currently in construction.

Design highlights presenters care about:

  • Realistic ruined gothic cathedral facade — crenellated stone towers, broken parapets, and a towering central pointed arch

  • Heraldic banners (crimson, and a bold black-and-crimson emblem set) that anchor the brand

  • Raised central platform for drums and dramatic staging, with carved gothic-arch detailing

  • Fog, dramatic lighting, and atmospheric effects integrated into the show

  • Modular and portable — reconfigures to fit your stage width and depth

  • Professional, freestanding, self-braced construction

THE COLLECTIVE

Midnight Cathedral is a creative collective, not a company and not a one-person show. Writers, musicians, and performers brought together by a shared vision — to tell long-form stories that live across music, books, and the stage.

The production is new. The people are not.

  • Founded by Paul Foust, a drummer and convention performer who has played Southeast convention events since 2011, including Dragon Con, and the author of the gothic-fantasy series Banners of the Crimson Fist the show is built from.

  • Members bring professional experience in theatrical productions and live performance across the Southeast, including costumed horror-and-fantasy spectacle work at Six Flags Over Georgia.

  • A released catalog of original music, available now on Spotify.

  • More than three years of writing, recording, and world-building behind the debut.

This is the honest picture: an emerging live production created by people who have done this kind of work before.

THE MUSIC

The songs come first. Midnight Cathedral has a growing catalog of released original music — gothic and orchestral metal that tells the stories of heroes, villains, and immortals. Available now on Spotify.

THE WORLD BEHIND THE SHOW

Every song opens another door. This debut production is drawn from Banners of the Crimson Fist — a published gothic-fantasy saga of immortal warriors, ancient rivalries, and the long struggle between honor and corruption. It is one thread of a larger creative universe: Midnight Cathedral is metal storytelling, a collision of gothic horror, fantasy, science fiction, and history, where every album and book is part of the same mythos (The Porcelain Empire and the world of Vespera among them).

Characters have histories. Stories have consequences. Designs reveal pieces of a larger picture. For a presenter, that means the show is not an abstract concept — it is a staged chapter of an existing, published story, with a reason to exist beyond the stage. And the well runs deep: a live performance is one way into the world, and future productions can draw from others within it, so a first booking is an introduction to a much larger body of work.

TECHNICAL & LOGISTICS

Midnight Cathedral tours as a self-contained, portable production designed to fit real venue stages and load in efficiently.

  • Stage footprint: Configures to approximately 28–30 ft wide in its standard layout; tightens for smaller stages.

  • Height: Scenic elements are 8 ft maximum — designed to clear typical auditorium sight lines and rigging.

  • Modular: The set breaks into sections for transport, assembly, and reconfiguration to your stage.

  • Ensemble: 6–8 performers.

  • Set length: Approximately 60 minutes, scalable to your slot.

A detailed technical packet — stage plot, input list, set dimensions, load-in and space requirements — is available to presenters on request.
